Obituary of Romana L. Rocamora

They purchased their home in North Salinas then welcomed their first born son Richard in 1966 and 8 years later introduced their second born son Randy in 1973. 

Romana started her nursing career at Salinas Memorial Hospital, and through the decades, worked numerous shifts and positions like Charge Nurse and Staff Developer, at Salinas Valley Memorial, Katherine Convalescent, Hazel Hawkins, Mee Memorial, CHOMP, Saint Louis Hospital, and Casa Serena Convalescent, but finishing her 56 Year nursing career at CTF Soledad. 

Romana really enjoyed watching her Filipino soap operas, weekly activities like Zumba and Hula Dancing Classes at the Salvation Army with her dear friends. Romana was a lifetime member of the Filipino Community of Salinas Valley and The Filipino Women’s Club of Salinas which she was The Founding President in 1984, including Past President, a member of the Barangay Lions Club and the Fil-Am Civic League of Salinas. 

Romana especially loved flying back and forth to Hawaii spending time with her sons, daughter in laws, grandchildren and great grand children.

Romana was preceded in death by her husband, Medardo “Dan” Rocamora, her parents, Daniel and Ines Lagos, her siblings Lourdes Vea, Dr Andres Lagos, Esmerelda Ibadlit, and Carlos Lagos.

Romana is survived by her children: Richard (Jennifer) Rocamora, Randolph (Stephanie) Rocamora ; her grandchildren: Rebecca (Jon) Stroven, Kiyannah Rocamora (Peter Piho),  her great grandchildren: Paxton & Kasen  Piho, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 12pm-6pm with a Rosary Vigil at 4pm - 6pm, 

All at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Rd, Salinas, CA 93905. 

Celebration of Life + the Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 10am  at Madonna Del Sasso Catholic Church, 320 E. Laurel Dr., Salinas, CA 93906. 

Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 18200 Damian Way, Salinas, CA 93907.
